My son stated he went to a friends house who was having a "kickback". Have you ever heard of this phrase and what does it mean?

ANDY'S ANSWER: Yes, it's a common expression and just means an informal get together with friends.  (Think of kicking off your shoes and being with people you are comfortable with.) The kind of thing where they get together to watch a movie, play games or just visit. I'm sure they can do other things that you might not approve while they are getting together, but the general meaning of the term is innocent.
